Common Pregnancy Questions
Finding out that you are pregnant is amazing! You are most likely filled with a ton of different emotions from excitement to fear and many more. Being pregnant for the very first time can leave you with a ton of questions. It can feel as if you are overwhelmed with a need to know about your body, the changes within you and much more. Here are some answers to common pregnancy questions.

How Can I Tell if I'm Pregnant?
If you think that you're pregnant but you're just not sure, there are some things you can look for to begin with. You may notice that you have been visiting the bathroom a lot more lately. Frequent urination is one of the beginning signs of pregnancy. You may also experience an urgent feeling that you need to go. These are very common as things within your body begin changing and growing. Another common sign is morning sickness. Many women will feel this in their first trimester, usually a little while after they've been up or when they try to eat. You may feel as if you're going to vomit, and you may actually vomit. Don't worry though - this stage usually only lasts until around the 12th week.

My Pregnancy Test is Positive - When Should I Visit the Doctor?
Many women who have a feeling that they're pregnant will take a pregnancy test (available from your local drug store or pharmacy.) When you take the test, if it shows up positive, you should make an appointment right away. Your doctor will get you started on pre-natal vitamins to keep you healthy, and will check the baby to be sure that everything looks as it should this early in the pregnancy. He will then schedule routine checkups, usually every three to four weeks so that he can monitor the baby's growth and be sure that everything proceeds the way it should.

What Sort of Medicines Should I Avoid?
There are many different medicines that you are cautioned to stay away from while you are pregnant. Although, usually it's fine to take over the counter pain reliever or cold medication, you will want to speak with your doctor to be sure. Every pregnancy is different and there could be medicines that you shouldn't take which are fine for other pregnant women to take. Go over this with your OB/GYN and don't be afraid to ask questions. That's what they're there for!

Should I Be Worried if There are Changes in My Baby's Movement?
Your baby's movement will increase and decrease just like our movement does. We don't kick and roll around all day long and neither will the baby inside your womb. However, you will get to learn your baby's movement patterns a good deal while you are pregnant, and if there are any drastic changes, you should visit your doctor. It is always safer to check to be sure that everything is fine. If you have worries or concerns and feel that something is wrong, do not ignore your feelings. Although it may just be first pregnancy jitters, again safer is better.

Although you will have a ton of different questions while you are pregnant, these are the most common questions that women ask.
